After watching photos from both of the canyons and sharing our experiences I could not pick one for the other.Īlthough this place has about a 4500 feet elevation (maybe not so much), check how susceptible you or your kids may be if coming from sea level.ĭon’t forget to drive around Page, AZ, and visit Horseshoe Bend. My parents, on the same road trip, visited upper antelope canyon. They are both in the Navajo Nation and accesible only by Navajo guided tour. Lower antelope canyon is a slot canyon with a V shape, as opposed to upper canyon's A shape. We visited lower antelope canyon during mid-morning on 12/31 with wife and kids (7 and 8).
No matter whether you are a hiker, explorer or not, this is a world wonder one must visit at least once in a life time (think Giza pyramids, Machu Picchu, Niagara Falls or the like, but millions of years older). The mix of shapes, textures, colors, smell and touch makes this place like being inside a dream.
